Privacy Notice

This Privacy Policy explains how Magoffin County Busted Mugshots handles ordinary website interactions. The project is a private reference guide, not a government records system. It does not host booking-photo galleries, accept jail records, or ask readers to submit sensitive personal information to search for an arrest. Independent providers linked or embedded on a page may have separate practices.

Information Collected Through the Pages

A normal visit may create technical information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, approximate time, referring page, and pages requested. Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, or search providers may process some of that information under their own policies. The project does not intentionally ask for a person’s date of birth, Social Security number, medical information, account password, payment card, or private case documents.

The public search widget can send a query to an independent provider when a visitor chooses to use it. The provider may receive the search terms and technical information needed to return results. Review the provider’s terms before submitting a name or other identifier. If a visitor sends a contact message, the message and reply address may be received by the private operator or its mail provider and used to answer the message, protect the service, or keep a business record.

Information may be shared with hosting, analytics, advertising, search, security, and email providers that help operate the pages. It may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a valid request from law enforcement or another public authority. The project does not sell a visitor’s contact message as a public-record search result.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The pages may use essential storage or cookies needed for basic operation, security, preferences, analytics, advertising, or a third-party search tool. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although a search widget or other feature may not work normally afterward. A provider may set its own cookie and give its own opt-out instructions.

Links and External Records

Links to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, Magoffin County Sheriff, Salyersville Police Department, Kentucky courts, Kentucky State Police, Kentucky DOC, federal locators, news outlets, and third-party indexes leave this website. Those organizations control their own pages, logs, cookies, records, photos, correction policies, and retention. A link is provided for source navigation and does not create an affiliation or guarantee availability.

Public booking and arrest information can be incomplete, stale, removed, sealed, or changed after a court event. A third-party copy may survive an official correction. Do not send a sensitive record to a publisher unless its privacy and correction process is understood.

Retention, Security, and Children

Technical logs and aggregated usage data may be retained for as long as needed for security, operations, measurement, or legal purposes. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no security method guarantees that information transmitted over the internet will remain secure. The site is intended for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

Subject to applicable law, a person may ask what contact information is held about them, request correction of an inaccurate contact message, ask that an unnecessary message be deleted, or withdraw a voluntary inquiry. A request may be limited when retention is needed for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or a provider’s independent records.

Policy Changes

This policy may be revised when site functions, providers, or legal requirements change. The date of the latest revision should be checked on this page. Continued use after a revision means the updated policy applies to future visits. Questions about an official booking record should be sent to the originating agency, not to this private reference.
